In addition to our mainstream banking expertise, GBRW provides specialised advisory services to Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), and donor agencies, helping them strengthen the effectiveness and impact of their capital deployment.
We support development finance stakeholders in designing and implementing investment frameworks that blend public, concessional, and private capital. Our focus is on ensuring that social, environmental, and economic impact objectives are embedded into project appraisal and credit assessment processes, while maintaining financial discipline and risk transparency.
Our team has extensive experience in developing and reviewing financial and private sector development strategies, addressing diverse perspectives such as business climate reform, sector competitiveness, value chain development, and access to finance. We bring a strong understanding of how blended finance can de-risk private investment, mobilise additional capital, and accelerate progress toward national development goals and the SDGs.
GBRW also advises sovereign shareholders, ministries of finance, and institutional investors on participation in DFI initiatives and membership of MDBs. Our work includes policy design, governance frameworks, and capacity building to help public-sector stakeholders align concessional finance, guarantees, and technical assistance with broader economic and climate strategies.
In addition, we are regularly engaged to produce research, diagnostic assessments, and policy options to inform development finance reforms and blended finance roadmaps. We also design and deliver training and coaching programmes for senior officials on the evolving roles of DFIs, concessional capital providers, and private investors in advancing sustainable and inclusive growth.
